The next four photos show part of the fight between two male Woodducks fighting for the right to mate with a hen Woodduck. The fifth photograph shows the winner claiming her as he stops her from fleeing from the scene. The jousting match lasted about 7 minutes with much splashing, spinning, and lashing of wings and bill snapping.
