Painting of the U.S.S. Constitution ("Old Ironsides") {left} during the battle with the H.M.S. Guerriere {right} during the sea battle in the War of 1812 where the Consitution destroyed the Guerriere and the U.S. crew named their ship Old Ironside since the British canon balls bounced off the strong US oak planking of their ship. The Constitution is still the oldest commissioned ship in the U.S. Navy and docked in Baltimore Harbor.
