The "Gate Keeper" on station. With numerous feeders in one area, it is interesting how one hummingbird will commence working as a gate keeper for a specific feeder for his pride of hummers. This bird will allow only those close to him to feed from it and chase other hummers not in his "circle of interest" to use it. At another location another gate keeper is busy as well as some twenty-odd hummers bump their energy level for the long trip to Mobile and then across the Gulf of Mexico.
