Heavily overcast morning. No direct sun and distance did not lend it for a flash support. This photo while very grainy (ie noisey) is that of a minute by minute confrontation between the winged insects and the hummers. This face-off last a minute or more until the hummer used the only defense it has.....speed.....to go to another source of food.
