It always amazes me how the sun's bright sunlight can turn a wonderful scene into silvers (or golds) as if the scene is painted in black & white. There are times of the day when that bright white lighted sun is filtering all color out of a scene and then begging a photographer to documents and then late in the evening that same sun can make all colors and shades mellow and romatic.
