While this photo is not all that appealing, it documents the other side of having wild life in a Refuge close to civilization. We see on the news how poachers are kill elephants for their ivory in Africa but many forget we have the same problem here with people hunting out of Season or killing wildlife that is under protection in a Refuge. These six Canada Geese were kill somewhere other than where found during our clean-up mission. It would appear that the poachers only harvested that portion of each goose they wanted and then dumped the remaining good meat on a side road in the WNR refuge. Instead of just dumping the geese they arranged them in a neat pile of senseless waste.
