Two periods of the year the WNWR allows harvesting of Whitetail Deer so the population does not exceed the food source for healthy specieis of the Whitetails. This 2012-2013 season allowed Deer to be harvested with archery equipment from October 15th t January 31st. The harvesting is also allowed with Flintlock (only) rifles from January 7 to January 21st. This six point male was harvestedd this morning in the very site specific zones where limited hunting is allowed for this specific purpose of allowing hunters to use real outdoor skills against the deer's skills in avoiding the harvest.
