This was grandpapa as an elderly man in the 1930s prior to him becoming homebound. As a child I can remember walking up to his little frame house in town and seeing him in his straight-back chair looking out his kitchen window watching the world travel before him. Even though crippled his attitude was always cheerful and friendly to a rag-topped child. His positive outlook was an inspiration to me as I entered mature manhood.
