On April 27, 2011 a F5 Tornado landed west side of the City and plowed through the City business and government building heading towards the Eastern part of the City where our house is located. The twister danced in a three block width rooting up 120 old oaks and homes/businesses and passed by my home as view in the previous photo. Needless to say we were fortunate since it did not destroy the structual integrity of this 100 year old house. Roof, siding, glass, trees, and outbuilding were all damaged or destroyed as well as inserting a portion of an oak tree into my bedroom.
I have a gallery on the main gallery page which gives a little more perspective of what a F5 twister can do when iat travels through a built up town that was established in 1873.
