K1A.jpg

This is photo is of a cross that I had made to replace the original one that was handed down to me from my Great Grandfather. It was old, worn thin after years of service around the neck of other kinsmen. It taken when on an assignment in another country and never returned. Hopefully it finally wound up in the hands of someone who needed that symbol of ultimate love for mankind.

The original one did not have the letters on each arm as this one does, but I felt it was time that some of the secrets of the cross my ancestors had worn (while in harms way) should at least be seen by others ....so that if the Spirit leads them to look closely at it....they will then have the opportunity to learn by asking what four things are important to man to live in peace in a world where evil exists along side good.

The G in the center of this cross represents our Holy Lord God, the arm that has the J stands for my order to seek Justice and be Just; the next arm with the F means that the wearer must have foritude and to be strong when others are weak in faith. The T on the bottom arm is for Temperance (a word not to often used in this modern era); which is the act of a man to control emotions in the areas of actions towards another and the life style of not going into excesses which leads to sins. Finally, the last arm is for Prudence .....and is another word that has been twisted in modern times to be spoken as "avprude" who does not allow fun by any means. When actually Prudence means to be cautious in what we say, do, or participate so our commitment to our Lord and our personal Honor is always keep safe.

The purpose of this style cross is to remind a me to pray, work for, and think of ways in which the Lord has allowed us to protect and service the people who we have pledged to do so no matter the religious doctrine, economic condition, race, or what Country on this Earth they come from. By working towards these Virtues and remembering the Beatitudes hidden else where on this cross. It is a real symbol of who I am and the reason for a continuation of my journey.
