M10.jpg

This photo was taken in the seventies of Pop in front of his country store. It was only 30x30 feet but it provided an income for he and his wife and provided for his three children. In fact he was one of the oldest Standard Oil (then later Chevron) dispensers in the State. One interesting point about his operation (and his oldest son's country store still operating) was the fact that they never tacked on 9/10ths of a cent per gallon on their sales. If gas was 27 cents a gallon it was 27 cents a gallon clean and neat for the farmers to calculate how much they could spend for fuel without using fractions or percentage numbers.

0.00s full exif
