Pictured here are the employees of Daddy George's Department Store in the late 1930s at Thanksgiving time. My Grandmother would cook all the food and their children would serve the meals and drinks to the employees. One interesting point was that while my Grandmother would cook and prepared the meals, she never attended these functions since she was totally against the consumption of alcholic beverages. She never allowed drinking of "spirits" and smoking in her house since she considered each a failure of self control within a person. She always stood on Principles but was a Lady of the old rural style when it came to helping others or showing hospitality to those less fortunate than her.
