Funny thing about photographers and cell-phone camera users.......they are predictible. No matter the range to the subject a cell-phone user believes they will get the photo as if they are using top grade SLRs.....and......many long lens shooters believe a tripod and in some cases use the rig as if they are shooting a 90mm lens instead of using the power of a long lens coupled with a first class process system on their computer or dark room. In this photo the photographers are taking turns taking shots of a Whitetail Buck at the base of this knoll who is standing in the tree line with a couple of does. Most ride the areas and then when another photographer is spotted they walk down to join that person. Not much sport but than again they get a good full frame photo since they righs are overpowered for the shot. I prefer to sit after scouting the area for signs and then wait for the subject to arrive but either way is a good way to enjoy the outdoors.
But if you want to have fun in an area of the Park while riding places like Cades Cove, just stop point out the window with your finger or a camera lense, then move on a little bit and watch those behind you stop and try to see what you didn't. It can break the boredom of crusing in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park when "everyone" is visiting the paved areas where the wildlife is allowed to graze without fear of harassment or harm..
