Finally, the boat has crossed that point of an escalation from Gracie so the boat will know they are trespassing and poising a threat to the Osprey family. So Gracie gives a scream and bolts from the nest to get air borne. See circles the boat several times voicing her displeasure and climbs high above the two fisherman. The boat by-passes the tower with Gracie keeping a watchful eye as the flys over them for a minute or two. NOTE: While an Osprey can fly close to the water and snatch a fish.....they also have the ability to dive feet first into the water and with their long wing span then lift themselves from the water. They are the only bird known to this Photographer that does this option of capturing their prey. And when protecting their young or nest, this is the preferred method of attacking with claws extended and open to greet their intruder. The fishermen were lucky they noticed her flight and screams and she elected not to move them away with force.
