This glass-sided horse-drawn hearse resides inside the Gold Ave. Methodist Episcopal Church in Pinos Altos, just outside Silver City. It was in service in Las Cruces from 1902 to 1912.
It was used to carry the body of Sheriff Pat Garrett, who was murdered in 1908, to his final resting place in Las Cruces. Sheriff Garrett shot Billy the Kid to death in a bedroom in Fort Sumner, NM in 1881.
