Note that the hardened steel plates that rest on the cutter teeth points are reversible for use on small or large saws. In this photo the right point of the raker is very close to the right plate but if the plates are reversed, there is more clearance for the raker. In other words, the gauge in the photo is set for a small saw but is setting on a large saw.
