One of the largest tourist railway operations in the US, it was impressive to see how they "process" so many people in a day. Weather was ok, just hot and humid (low 90's). There were some great clouds which dissipated by the time the last run came back around 7:45.
They ran 2 steam trains for about 1/2 the day and on the second ride I took, we stopped at the upper end to pick up a gondola, making our return trip a mixed train. While they were fetching the gondola, an Amtrak train passed on the high-speed track.
The shop tour was interesting, they seem capable of most any repair.
