Every spring, Hubbard Park has a daffodil festival with thousands of daffodils in many varieties. Usually held the last weekend in April, it's often past the maximum bloom, but you just never really know. You can't blame them, they have a lot to co-ordinate, carnival rides, food vendors fireworks, etc. It's also very crowded, which is why I decided to head over there a week early. I'm glad I did, as I think I hit things near peak. Sadly, people are selfish and many are not content to admire the beauty but walk right into the thick blooms, trampling them. The best was in the morning, by the evening when I returned for the afternoon light, the people were letting their children run thru the beds. With several nice spring days having passed since I was there, I'm not sure what will be left by Festival time next weekend.
