Laon in France

Laon is a French city with 24,066 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) and the capital (préfecture) of the Aisne department. The historically significant city has many medieval buildings, including the famous Laon Cathedral. With the fortified old town on a table mountain, Laon has the largest contiguous area of listed buildings in France.
