Gars am Kamp ist eine niederösterreichische Marktgemeinde mit 3.473 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Jänner 2025) im Waldviertel, gelegen im Kamptal. Der Ort Gars war im Mittelalter unter den Babenbergern eine Zeit lang Regierungssitz Österreichs und fungierte im 19. und im 20. Jahrhundert als traditionelle Sommerfrische. Zum Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts erlebte der Luftkurort Gars durch den Gesundheitstourismus von Willi Dungl neuerlich einen Aufschwung.

Gars am Kamp is a market town in Lower Austria with 3,473 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2025) in the Waldviertel region, located in the Kamp Valley. During the Middle Ages, under the Babenberg dynasty, Gars served for a time as the seat of government for Austria and functioned as a traditional summer resort in the 19th and 20th centuries. At the end of the 20th century, the health resort of Gars experienced a renewed boom thanks to the health tourism initiative of Willi Dungl.
