Sun Dogs (Parhelia) and Halos

Sun dogs, halos and rainbows have special meaning for me related to my sister Carol who died in an automobile accident in 1986. It's too long of a story than there is space here to tell. Sun dogs are the result of light refracted through atmospheric ice crystals so they are not uncommon where I live (Alaska), but I have also seen them in places where they are rare or just don't occur. I would be interested in knowing if any viewers have seen sundogs in the Southeastern US or tropical Africa anywhere.

I will be adding more pictures as I have many,some dramatic, some not, some with significant meaning, some not.
