Rhody is my Rhodesian Ridgeback I picked up in Zambia and I brought her back to the states with me. From Zambia to Alaska is about as far as you can ship a pet home and it cost me over a thousand dollars to bring her back to Alaska. I fed her a mixture of kapenta (small dried herring-like fish) and nshima (corn meal porridge sort of). Zambia was part of the British colony Rhodesia once upon a time and Rhodesian Ridgebacks were developed here to hunt lions. They are said to be the only dog not afraid of the scent of lions. She is almost fearless, but barks at the moose now from the safe vantage of the back porch. Intruders would be advised to find somewhere else to rob.
