The Revolution from 1989

From the roof of the buiding behind this monument old couple of dictator Ceausesco and his ugly mean stupid wife take off with his presidential helicopter while the crowd ask his regisnation. Everything happen after a 'decent' public meeting ordered by Ceausesco interrupted by a small group of people who who make noise during the meeting and ask his resignation. Alot of people turn agains the dictator, following the attitude of the ice breaker group and ask loudy the resignation. The rest was history... and those names on this monument belong to the people who was shot dead by army and security forces in this market square next to the office of dictator, defending what we all like to call then and now, the 'Revolution of 1989'.

I was in 1984 in Romania and did extensive travel, with a romanian girl, named Rodica who worked as tourist guide.
It was a very impressive trip. I loved the landscape, towns, but people did look too sad. In a small village, near Timisoara an old gentleman, ask my permission to take in his hands my Nikon F3. He knew many things about that camera, loved photography, but could never afford such camera. He spoke a perfect french, I would like to spend all day long with him, to let him play with my Nikon, but Rodica told me this would be too dangerous for him, to stay talking with an alien...
