The entrance to Barrow Haven is a regular spot for ships to ground, although usually they float off on a rising tide or eventually manage to extracate themselves and try again on another high tide. Amur 2504 (RUS 3086/84) was not so lucky. She grounded whilst arriving on 26 Mar 2007 and remained firmly in place. Subsequent high tides were lower and the vessel did not manage to float again until the slightly higher tide on 30th March.
