May 2008

Three nights spent in the brand new Parks Victoria's Wilderness Retreats, area tucked away in tea-trees at the south end of Norman Bay at Tidal River.

".....elevated luxury safari-style tents, which are low impact and touch the earth lightly."
- Parks Victoria leaflet

This was 5 star camping in environmentally friendly style. The huge tents with raised wooden floors and a wooden deck, had lock up doors, electric lights and power-points, a queen-size bed, full ensuite and all quality bed linen, bath towels and locally produced toiletries. One of the tents was a large well equipped kitchen to be shared between the four retreats.

What a comfortable way to enjoy this beautiful area of Victoria.
