A home exchange can be simultaneous, but when not convenient and it is arranged for another occasion when the weather or conditions suit.

We don't always get to meet our home exchangers, although, because each one involves much communication beforehand, it seems that we almost know them. Usually all is left in readiness at our home and a folder of useful information awaits with a welcoming note and gift. The same applies when we reach our intended destination. Sometimes we have met up at one end or the other and occasionally at an airport as the parties arrive and depart from each end. There, we have exchanged keys for house and car with instructions as to where to locate the car in the parking area.

This time we were happy to be greeted by one of our exchangees, before she left to join her family in their summer holiday home.
