We took a bus journey from our home base in Frigiliana, to Granada, and stayed for two nights/days. We were struck by the beauty of grand architecture, city squares, narrow streets and the sight of orange trees laden with fruit, palms and decorative garden windows, sophisticated fashion, restaurants and bars. Some aspects reminded me of places in Italy, particularly Naples and the Amalfi Coast.
Our stay in this beautiful city was spoiled by heavy rain and, sadly, a misunderstanding of our advance booking to see the Alhambra Palace. Also, some of my images have rain spots.
"Granada has an unmistakably Moorish flavour, as it was the last city to be reconquered by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492." Website
