There was an old wounded warrior in the herd that I had been photographing here in Utah that had some very serious wounds along with some severely swollen front knees. When the BLM rounded all 300+ up last October, they put the old stallion down. It was sad to talk to the man in charge of the holding facility who told me about the stallion that I had photographed many times. But, he was very old and likely was in a lot of pain.
By the way, after the horses were rounded up, only about 95 were released back out into the desert. Many of my personal favorite horses are gone. Kinda sad.
