Pacific Cutlery

"Rekishi a fine piece of histrory. Many men have gone by and were regarded as inferior to their peers but to the lovers who look back at memories of the past they are deemed greatest of heroes..."

They may not be as flashy as some of the customs you see poping up nowadays but these knvies still serve as great examples of a rich history when Benchmade was still Pacific Cutlery. When the balisong was still rampant among us and a time we long to return to.

# Pacific Cutlery Model 401: This is the thicker handled and bladed cousin of the the quickly discontinued Benchmade 41. It sports a 4 inch drop point utility. The blade shape looks like a nice marriage between the Model 48 and Model 45 without the swedge. It has a more reliable spine and large belly. A tougher utility compared to the 48 for sure.

# Pacific Cutlery International Series Model 159. I just love this nice swedged 'classic' weehawk blade. The upper swedge is thinly ground but is not sharpened. The handles look like the non surgical steel jaguars, and I sometimes wonder if the blade REALLY IS 440C as it was noted in the stats. Call me heretic but the overall construction of this knife (with possible exception tot he pins) is a notch lower than Jaguars.,. Hnn I dunno.. my sudden opinion.. You can stone me to death later =).

# This is a VERY intreresting piece. I am no sure what model this is. Balisong trivia fans might slap me silly and say "WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!! THAT'S A MODEL 44!!!" Oh yeah I though that too until I compared it to a Benchmade model 44 and found that the blade was not as wide and distinctively smaller!! The grind is not as menacing as the 44 in my opinion.
Anyways, this is not a custom blade, but it could be put up to debate. It is most definitely a Pacific Cutlery production, but then thing is.. if you notice the coulour pic (click on the image) the blade is coated with a non reflective grey material. Not like bt2 more like teflon to give it that semi bead blasted look. This coating is evident in quite a few pacific cutlery internation series models too. Even the handles are coated. I am not sure if this blade is made of some special steel because it weighs fairly the same as the rest of the Pcs I have handled.
BTW it is NOT a PC Model 404 - the 404 is a reinforced tanto.
