Phipps Conservatory

Pittsburgh, PA

When Phipps Conservatory was opened on Dec 7, 1893, it was America's largest conservatory.

Surprisingly, this adjacent building: Phipps Halls of Botany was designed in 1901 in a -non-crystal
fashion. Not far away, Hotel Schenley (now William Pitt Union), designed from the same architect
Rutan & Russell, stands at the center of Oakland.

It looks better than the real building in my memory.
