16th Bridge

Pittsburgh, PA

16th Bridge, the bridge witnessed the change of strip district----
a narrow strip of land in a flood plain confined by natural boundaries.

Once the location of iron mills, it shifted to become a place for wholesale
produce business. Today the Strip District is best known for its retail and
ethnic food stores, restaurants and coffee shops.

If you walk through the bridge, you can see the Pennsylvania Fruit Auction just under the
bridge. The building is now closed and has been transformed to leave more
space for widening the bridge.
