The opportunity to take shots like this is one of the main reasons why I wanted to go to Tsarkoe Selo again. I find the palace itself over the top in decoration, inside and outside. Don't like it much. But the garden was good, along with the south facade and the golden domes of the chapel.
I was very disappointed to find out on the spot that the domes were covered because of restaurations and that most of the garden including the Hermitage was being renovated and therefore one big mess. To top it off there was a production company shooting some film in the gardens and they kicked everyone out of the central part.
