The Dvortsovaya Square in front of the Winterpalace / Hermitage museum.
Shot just before 10.00 in the morning when the museum opens for groups. Sky was blah. In 2003 the sun came up when we were there and kept the square in the shade and only had the light on the Winterpalace facade. That was great.
In the background you see the building of the General Staff and the Alexander column.
