Mule Shoe Bend

Mule Shoe Bend has the largest annual display of Texas Bluebonnets - Lupinus texensis (Fabaceae) - in the State. It's about 13 miles east of Marble Falls, Texas on the south side of the Colorado River.

It's a must see location for wildflower photographers everywhere within a state known for its wildflowers. The Texas Bluebonnet, a lupine, is the state flower.

There are two similar lupine species native to Texas:
Texas Bluebonnet(Lupinus subcarnosus) & Texas Lupine((Lupinus texensis)
