Bodie Ghost Town

Bodie Ghost Town is located at about 8,400 feet above sea level on a barren mountain north of Death Valley. It was a gold mining boom town whose prime lasted between 1877 to 1882. At it's peak it had a population of 10,000 in 1880. Techincally, Bodie isn't a ghost town and never has been. It's been continuously occupied since first settled in 1859.
