I can't help but wonder how this shot might have been helped by a split neutral density filter to bring the sky into more balance with the foreground. I still really like this composition and the sense of hardship and desolation that it portrays. I'm now working on combining some of my exposures from Lake Valley in Photomatix HDR and will have to see what it yields.
