Auckland to London

Hello.... Ive been away from pbase for sometime. On a holiday from New Zealand to UK and Europe for 3 months.


After 25 hours from leaving home..finally London is in view.. what a feeling to finally arrive, I felt emotional..tears in my eyes, as I arrived in England, home of my ancestors. My grandfathers and grandmothers left these shores for a life in New Zealand at the beginning of the 20th century.. and here I am 2nd generation New Zealander, my first trip to explore their homeland.


Countries I visited: England, Scotland, Wales, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and France.


I will slowly upload my photos as I sort them. I decided to leave my SLR Canon 30D camera at home.. so all photos here snapped with my Canon S2 powershot, or my Panasonic TZ3.

What sensible ancestors you have! And that was before the congestion! How fascinating to see familiar scenes through a visitors eyes!
