The general route was DAY 1: Torrance, CA (9:00 p.m.) to a rest stop just west of Phoenix, AZ. DAY 2: Casa Grande Ruins Nat. Mon., Saguaro Nat. Park, Tombstone, to a rest stop just west of Las Cruces, NM. This rest stop is only accessible on the eastbound I-10. It provides a wonderful view of the town of Las Cruces, especially at night. The rest stop also has a large metal statue of a road runner. Day 3: White Sands Nat. Mon., Guadalupe Nat. Park, Carlsbad Caverns Nat. Park to a motel in Roswell, NM. Day 4: Armarillo, TX, Adrian, TX, across New Mexico, to a rest stop southwest of Kingman, Arizona. Day 5: Skywalk, Grand Canyon South, back to Torrance, CA. (8:00 p.m.).
