This sliding window is also a door. We chose that because we wanted clear glass all the way down to the floor with no chair rail blocking the view. We don't want a balustrade to block the view either. We hope that the building surveyor will allow a special lock with a "Window Cleaner's Key" to classify this as an "un-openable window" for safety purposes. 24-12-2004.
