I have an aluminium plaque which i was told was a piece of a warhead from the uss missouri, apparantley fabricated by a ships engineer it reads as follows... the commemoration of the occupation of japan, On aug14th 1945 japan submitted to the declaration in potsdam and surrendered and in the bay of tokyo gen maccathur presided at the proceed of signing the paper of the terms of surrender on the board of the missouri on sep 2th 1945. this is exactly as it reads. i would like to learn more about this plaque, is it genuine? it is flower shaped, approx 10 inches in diameter and is engraved with the above, at the top there is also engraved a simple relief of mount fuji, it is not signed or initialled, where might i post a picture of the item? any info would be appreciated...
