Constructing N scale RSD-15 on Atlas B40-8 mechanism

Following the example set by Jim Bence of San Diego Society of N scale, and inspired by Randgust, the following photos document the construction of an N scale Santa Fe Alco RSD-15 "Alligator" and a RSD-7 high-hood Alco, using Model Power RSD-15 shells, placed on modifed Atlas B40-8 mechanisms fitted with Atlas C628/C630 trucks. Included are photos of the mechanism modifications, as well as the progress of reworking, painting, decaling, wire handrails, couplers on the Model Power shells. Dec 2019 note: You can do a faster even better build of your own RSD-15 or RSD-7 nowadays, using Dirk Jan Blikkendaal's (of The Netherlands) ATSF N Scale Models kit for the RSD-15, I have one of his conversion kits and can vouch for the quality, the good instructions, the well thought out method he provides.
