Following the example set by Jim Bence of San Diego Society of N scale, and inspired by Randgust, the following photos document the construction of an N scale Santa Fe Alco RSD-15 "Alligator" and a RSD-7 high-hood Alco, using Model Power RSD-15 shells, placed on modifed Atlas B40-8 mechanisms fitted with Atlas C628/C630 trucks. Included are photos of the mechanism modifications, as well as the progress of reworking, painting, decaling, wire handrails, couplers on the Model Power shells.
