Jeff grew up in Boone, North Carolina. His father ran a music shop and by the age of fourteen, young Jeff was playing piano professionally. Jeff knows blues, rockabilly, jazz, and a little rock. But he grew up with the sounds and musicians of traditional country folk music and counts Doc Watson as a personal friend and musical colleague. He has played around the world and been featured at the Smithsonian and on NPR. "Piano Man from the Blue Ridge" is Jeff's second album (the first was the eponymous "Jeff Little").
