Alaska Inland Passage

In September of 2000, my wife and I took a trip up the Inland Passage. Rather than doing the traditional cruise ship junket, we elected to be more adventuresome and ride the Alaskan Marine Hwy Ferry System. This allowed us to jump off the ferry at small towns along the way (Ketchikan, Wrangell, Juneau, Sitka, Petersburg) and then catch the next one as it passed through a few days later. Thank you Mark....for the preview. I'm heading to Alaska soon and am so looking forward to it. Your photos are beautiful and heighten my anticipation. I hope I can take some captures nearly as nice.

Hi Mark- I'm planning my motorcycle trip to Alaska for the summer solstice. I'll bring the ferry part of the way back, and I was trying to figure out what I would see on this ferry ride. Your gallery provided the answer. Thanks for sharing! Jeff

Wow! Thanks for sharing your great photos and providing the Alaskan ferry link. We're just starting to plan an Alaskan vacation and we didn't even know that the ferry system was an option.
