Janet stakes out the tent (using duct tape) just before departing Bellingham, WA. This was at the rear of the ferry just outside the Solarium. The Solarium was a covered area with heat lamps and lounge chairs where you could also crash out of the weather. Staterooms were available but more expensive and those wishing to choose so, could sleep almost anywhere on the ferry.
