Evolution of the Balcony Remote Observatory.
Cross section views, through the observatory toward the west. Left drawing depicts the eastern wall,
with the scope behind it in southern park position. Headroom is needed if Polar Park Position is
used. Right drawing depicts the cross section at the far west wall with the motor mounted.
Observatory is approximately 8' wide in this view. Scope is positioned closer to the left (south)
wall in this view to gain clearance over the house on the right (north) side of the balcony.
Cathedral rolling ceiling provides close to horizon access to the south (left), east (behind the
reader; wall section flips down), and north (right). Western view is same as a flat rolling
roof - obstructed at ~35 degrees over horizon, if scope is 5.0' from the roof edge.
