Domain of the Puma

Mountain lions (cougar, puma) remain in Rocky Mountain National Park. Elk and deer are plentiful, thus park Puma seldom feed upon humans. Seeing a Cougar is very rare, chancing upon Puma tracks is not quite so rare. Two photos herein indicate where some Puma tracks and scratches were recently found as I was hiking. I returned the next day and took pictures. The earth that had been scratched was drier on my return trip, thus the tracks and scratches are less distinct than they had been the day before. To visit in the home range of a Cougar is a rare treat, not far from hiking trails.
