One cannot say you've been to Chiang Mai without visiting Doi Suthep Temple.

It is one of the most famous wats in the whole of Thailand. We had originally planned to view the sunrise from there. But we were too tired so we took a late morning trip there instead. It reminded us very much of the Grand Palace in Bangkok but to a much smaller scale, of course.
