I am at a loss for words to describe the Maasai Mara, which is Kenya’s most popular game reserve. Imagine Singapore as a vast field with hills and mountains with millions of animals and very few human beings and houses (all single-storey). There are no concrete or asphalt roads, only dusty and bumpy tracks, in the game reserve.
One of the first things that hit me, coming from Singapore, was the vastness and flatness of the land. Because it is situated over 5,000 feet above sea level and has a dry climate, you do not sweat even in mid-day when the temperature hits 29 degrees Celsius and at night the temperature can drop to 15 degrees Celsius.
