Bangkok's Best-Kept Secret

During a recent trip to Bangkok and Nakhon Pathom, I discovered, purely by accident, "Bangkok's best-kept secret"--its beautiful flowers. Although some of them, like the lilies were imported, many of them are homegrown in Thailand.

One location is Pak Klong Talat, the biggest flower market in Bangkok. Another was at the Rose Garden Hotel in Nakhon Pathom, less than an hour away from Bangkok, but a misnomer as there were very few roses, but lots of zinnias, orchids and cannas. A third was Queen Sirikit Park opposite Chatuchak Park, where I delightfully found the biggest lotus garden I've ever seen.

I have excluded the orchids, for which Thailand is very famous, as that will be a separate gallery altogether with my orchid photos taken in Singapore.

I would like to dedicate this gallery, firstly to my wife, whose happiness index soars whenever she sees a fresh bloom, then, my very good friends in Thailand, especially Pom and Ying, with whom I worked on a consulting project over 10 years ago and who never fail to meet with me when I'm visiting and to my classmate, Teerachai (Ad), and his wife, Jub, who invited and hosted our class reunion in Bangkok.
